Enjoy The Ride!

I used the Hero Arts Bicycle stamp on this card.  I stamped it with black ink on ivory cardstock.  The Embossing Folder is Polka Dots by Quickutz.   I think I'll stamp Enjoy The Ride for the inside sentiment!

Video: Masking with Glossy Accents

I actually tried making this card.  I pretty much followed what she did on the video.  Mine didn't come out quite as nice but I made an attempt!  Go here for all the materials & instructions:  Masking with Glossy Accents

Savvy Tags

I saw this idea on Savvy Stamps Facebook Page.  What a great way to use all those background stamps we've all  been collecting. I love how just the bottom half of the tag is stamped. A set of tags like this would make a great gift or they would also be nice to have on hand for a quick addition to a gift bag.

Wicked Cool

Can you believe that I made more Halloween cards? I really wanted to use the Stampin' UP Wicked Cool witch's feet stamp!  The patterned background paper is from Papertrey Ink called Halloween prints.   The embellishments were in my Halloween project case and are Recollections Dimensional Stickers purchased at Michael's some years ago??
This card is basically the same only I cut out the witch's feet for this one, which required a bit of 'fussy' cutting.  I heard that term on a blog the other day & thought it was a good way to describe it!  The background paper is the same as the card above but for some reason the camera lighting made it seem more rust colored in the second card & more orange in the first photo.  My photography skills are not the best . . .

Teachabella!

Look at the darling teacha!  This stamp is by Stamping Bella called Teachabella.  I used ruled patterned paper for the bottom of the card to make it look like school.
And one of my favorite things to do is personlize the card! A set of notecards for your favorite teacher would be such a nice gift.

Chef Linda

I sent these 3 cards to a friend recently for her birthday.  I did three different colors of mixing bowl so each had a different season in mind.  I really love these Paisley cards by Target & have used them over & over again.

For Iowa State Fans

I picked up this set for my neighbor/decorator.  They are big time fans of the Cyclones.  They have a dedicated flag pole to their team & the big I is painted on the inside of their garage.  Even for someone that isn't necessarily a card maker it is a great set to have to decorate an envelope or make a simple little gift tag.  You can purchase these sets locally or order online here - Sports Stamps.

Iowa Hawkeyes Stamp Set!

I was so excited to find out about this new company called Sports Stamps.  They are only carrying Iowa & Iowa State clear sets right now but I hope they will expand their collection very soon!   I've seen these stamp sets at my local stamp stores.  Both Outstamping Designs & Memory Bound had them the last time I visited their stores.  You can also order online if you are not local to Des Moines.
You know what a big Buckeye Fan that I am so you can bet that I'm waiting for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY stamp set to be released!  But in the meantime, I'm  glad to make my Hawkeye friends smile!!

Baby Girl Gift Card

I used this Heidi Grace patterned paper for this baby girl gift card holder.  The little chicks have flocking on them so it is a nice texture.

I wanted a classy looking gift card to coordinate with my gift card holder & Baby Gap was the answer!  The pink & brown is perfect for my Baby Girl gift card.

Go here to an earlier post to get all the details on how to make the gift card holders.   If you haven't made one of these you really should try it, they are so much fun to make with various patterned papers!!

Here are the measurements:

Cool Background

This was my inspiration for the cards that I made.  I copied the idea but used the stamps & inks that I already have in my collection.  Here is the link to the Hero Arts card called Flying By To Say Hi to get all the details.  I really think the reason I liked this card was for the beautiful background colors.  While it was a bit of work to mask off the area I really liked how they turned out & I was able to use some of my Distress Dye Ink Pads.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Dye Inks - Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge & Dried Marigold for the background & my blending tool to apply the ink to the paper.  I used Amber Clay Chalk Ink for the moon.  Versafine Black ink for the branch, spider & the words.

Distress Inks

I have been using my Distress Inks a lot lately for background stamping.  Here is a cool Distress Ink Chart if you are like me & want to have a color chart of the inks.  Click Here:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink Color Chart.  I found this wooden ink blending tool by Inkssentials that works really nicely.  I labeled each ink foam with the color of the ink on it so that when I'm blending inks I can easily switch them.  The foam pieces velcro on the inking tool.  I'll be posting some cards very soon using this blending technique.

I've seen these at several different stores - Michael's & Archiver's both carry them.

Kraft Anniversary Card

I may have posted this card before but I wanted to feature it today before I send it out in the mail.  I started with Kraft cardstock as the base.  I stamped the damask on ivory cardstock & then added a layer of black.  I put a few black gems on the designs to add a little interest.  The words & damask are from the Damask Designs set by Papertrey Ink.  I stamped a different damask from the set on the Kraft envelope.

More Halloween!

I used the Polka Dot Basics II Background set by Papertrey Ink on the Kraft cardstock.  Both of the fence punches are by Martha Stewart.  One is called Scary Fence Edge & the other is Iron Fence Edge.  The orange satin ribbon is from Michael's.

I used the smallest of the three nesting label dies for the words. (See below)

The stamped words are from Spooky Sweets II by Papertrey Ink.

Creepy Crawly Chef!

I love the color of Pumpkin Pie cardstock by Stampin' Up for the card base & the embossed layer on this card.  I embossed the layer with the Cuttlebug Pumpkin Harvest embossing folder.  I used the Lovin' From The Oven set by My Favorite Things & made the chef a little spooky for Halloween with the Heidi Grace Jeepers Creepers border rubons that had the perfect teeny tiny spider for her wooden spoon!  The words are from Spooky Sweets II by Papertrey Ink.  I paper pieced the two parts of her apron using black & cream paisley patterned paper.
