Social Club

A new paper combo by Cosmo Cricket called Social Club.  Think Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, a sweet tune and a dry martini!

I thought this card would be good for an anniversary - sort of a retro look!  The patterned papers are all from Social Club.  I used black twine with a little heart charm that I found in my stash.

Have a Great Birthday

I started with this great Hero Arts Background stamp called Classic Fabric Design on a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock.
This Hero Arts Leaf Flourish was the perfect accent on the corners of the card.  I stamped it with Dark Brown Chalk Ink.

Party Snack Mix

We are having a card party here this weekend so I mixed up this Party Snack Mix.  My friend, Judy gave me the recipe.  I made it for our Super Bowl Party & it was a hit so I thought I would make it again.  It is very simple - mix up everything in a big bowl & stir, stir & stir.
Here is the recipe if you want to try it.  Click here

The snack mix works well in a large jar.  I put a scoop in the jar so that people are able to serve themselves easily.  Doesn't it look pretty?

Guy Cards Needed...

I decided to get my Who's That Grillin' Guy stamp set out by My Favorite Things.  I needed several Guy cards coming up in the next few weeks.  I downloaded all the logos off the internet & sized them down to fit on the apron.  I printed the logos on cardstock & then stamped over the logo with my Grillin' Guy.
For our Cincinnati Reds Fans...
For our Cincinnati Bengals Fans...
For our Kansas Chiefs Fans...
More Bengals Fans...
My marker colors that I used on the cards.
Guys Like You Are Rare!  I used a few different embossing folders on the layers.

Anniversary Cards!

It all started with this Geometric Circles Embossing Folder that I picked up the other day at Hobby Lobby.  It reminded me of the quilt pattern called Double Wedding Ring.  I thought it would be nice to make anniversary cards.

I love this color combination of Simply Chartruese & Smoky Shadow cardstock.

I love using my cardstock from Papertrey Ink & making several color combinations.  I also have ribbon to match the PTI cardstock so it is a quick & easy project!
I am planning to use this stamp set on my parent's 50th wedding anniversary invitations (which I haven't started on yet!) The Happy Anniversary circle was perfect for my anniversary cards.  This set is from Impression Obsession called Anniversary.

Don't Worry - the Blog is okay!

A few of you let me know that a strange message came up when you were on my blog today.  I did some research online & found out that it is a "false threat".  I reported it to Microsoft, so I hope that they will take care of it & keep the message from coming back.  I think the problem is associated with Internet Explorer so those of you that use other browsers probably haven't had any issues.   As far as I can tell everything is fine but please so let me know if you get any more strange messages.  Thanks!

Remember these Doreen?

Here is a set of simple notecards that Doreen & I made up a few years ago for a craft sale.  All of them were stamped with black ink & layered on various pastel cards.

What is in all those new drawers??

Guns - Craft type guns that is... J
my tape gun, heat gun & corner chomper in this drawer!

Machines - My PTouch Label Maker, My Cuttlebug, My Martha Stewart Scoring Board & a Box of Embossing Folders & die cuts.

Pencils - Colored Pencils & a few Markers fit nicely in this drawer.

Scissors & Punches -  I realized how many decorative scissors I own!  I also included my punches in this drawer.

Files - I have one drawer that holds file folders.  My thinking right now is to put all my Papertrey Ink solid colored cardstock in this drawer.  Next question, will it all fit?

Inks - I use these small ink cubes often so I like having them close by.

Inks #2 - I had to have a second drawer for a few more inks that I use often along with my Detail Clear Embossing Powder.

Adhesives -  Geesh, I have a lot of tape!!

Dimensionals - lots of these too but it is nice to have them all in one place!

Acrylics - and for all those clear stamp sets that I own I have every size of acrylic!

EMPTY DRAWER - one drawer is empty!
I used Papertrey Ink's Kraft Cardstock for the labels for each drawer.  I love how it looks sort of old fashioned.  I feel way more organized with my new set up.  Only thing is that I hate to make a mess, I'm sure that I will get over that quickly!

A New Look!

This was my first attempt at making a video.  I filmed it on Saturday & you can hear the Buckeye basketball game in the background.  The game didn't turn out like we wanted it to by the way!  The wall of white drawers I have had for a while.  Those drawers hold  all my wood stamps.  I ordered these cabinets from Home Decorators catalog a few years ago.  The paper sorters are from various places - Container Store and the Making Memories brand that Michael's carries.  I put all my clear stamps in CD Cases & that is what you see against the wall with 4 shelves.  If you have any questions about anything you see leave me a comment.

The black furniture is new to my room.  I was finally able to find something that suited my Crafting Studio!  I ordered everything from Ballard Designs.  The credenza you can choose each component & then put a working surface over top of the individual pieces so that it looks like one piece.  I love that I was able to choose the drawers that I wanted!

I really love my new layout.  I feel fortunate to have such a great space & I'm happy when I get to spend time there J

Yet Another Banner Birthday!

I had stamped two sets of banners the other day when I made the other birthday banner card.  I thought I should go ahead & make a card out of the pieces instead having them laying on my desk.  This is basically the same design but different words.  I may have to make up several of these for my stash of birthday cards.  Perfect for all ages!

The words I used on the card are from Hero Arts Yummy Treats

♥ Happy Valentine's Day ♥

Each card is just a little different.  I also used various words in the inside of each card.
I used the Hero Arts Flourish Hearts for my Valentine Cards this year.  I used a rectangular Nestability for the white base of the card.  I added the punched border of red - some I put words on & some I didn't.  I used various black & white patterned papers for the bottom part of the cards.  The design is pretty simple but I love the red, black & white colors together.
I thought it was a nice touch to line the envelopes with patterned paper.

Rain or Shine...

Laura made this cute card for her sweetie for Valentine's Day.  The stamp is by Unity Stamps - IB21 Itty Bitty Rubber Stamp.  She was able to find it at Archiver's.  I love the umbrella & as you can see Laura paper pieced it - very cute!

Another Banner Birthday!

I had considered buying the a Banner Punch because I like the way banners look on a card.  Last time I was at Archiver's with my coupon, I saw this stamp set called Hero Arts Friendly Flags & I thought it was pretty nice with all the various patterns included on the stamps.  Banners are pretty simple to cut out so it thought this was better than a big ole' punch to add to my collection.
The words are from Wrapped in Love by My Favorite Things.
